Surat : In a significant step towards sustainability and eco-consciousness in the textile industry, the 5th edition of Yarn Expo-2023, organized by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), is set to feature an innovative range of specialty yarns, including eco-friendly Jari made from bamboo fibers. This groundbreaking yarn will be displayed for the first time, showcasing its potential to revolutionize fabric-making while promoting environmentally-friendly practices.
The Yarn Expo 2023 will be inaugurated at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC) on August 4 and it will run till August 6.
Traditionally, fabric production has heavily relied on plastic Jari, which raises environmental concerns due to its non-biodegradable nature and harmful impact on the ecosystem. However, with the introduction of eco-friendly Jari made from bamboo fibers, the industry is witnessing a transformative shift towards sustainable alternatives.
The eco-friendly bamboo yarn can be utilized in both conventional weaving techniques and advanced high-speed technologies like rapier, airjet, and waterjet weaving. This versatile and environmentally-conscious yarn provides a greener and more ethical solution for the textile industry, catering to the growing demand for eco-friendly and sustainable fabrics.
